Directing / Producing

Lawrence Leritz began his producing & directing career at age 25 when he launched his dance company, DANCE CELEBRATION, which gained international success.  Leritz then enjoyed producing and directing several editions of the musical revue, BROADWAY SHOWSTOPPERS on Broadway and National tours.  Leritz  was quickly tapped to co-produce and production supervise the 50th ANNIVERSARY GALA OF THE AMERICAN GUILD OF MUSICAL ARTISTS starring Beverly Sills at the New York State Theatre at Lincoln Center.  The gala featured over 300 luminary artists from dance, opera and concert stage, including performances from the NEW YORK CITY BALLET, AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE, ALVIN AILEY DANCE COMPANY and the major stars from the METROPOLITAN & NYC OPERAS.  Leritz has just completed producing the highly successful new Off Broadway show, BOOBS! THE MUSICAL, which opened to rave reviews, for which Lawrence received the 2004 MAC Award nomination.

For television, Leritz has directed & co-produced numerous projects for GOODTIMES VIDEO, MTV, TOO TALL PRODUCTIONS and with Chris Cohen at C & C VISUAL.  His most recent and satisfying success was as a producer for three seasons of the annual television event, DAY OF COMPASSION.  Under Lawrence's direction, DAY OF COMPASSION, became the largest one day event in television history with over 200 shows on the air.  TIME MAGAZINE named Lawrence as their LOCAL HERO in June 1996 for his contribution.
